Why Should I Use Mannequins?

Buyers Guide - Mannequins 2

Mannequins bring your garments to life.

Often referred to as ‘silent sales people’ a well dressed mannequin will demonstrate the fit and cut of your latest collection much more effectively than a clothes rail ever could.

Increase your sales.

Numerous studies have clearly shown that fashion stores that use mannequins generate higher sales that stores that do not use them. This is due to your customers being able to better relate to a mannequin that a clothes rail.

Improves customer experience.

The aesthetics offered by mannequins promotes an all-round better shopping experience by enhancing your environment and adding theatre to your display area.

Highlight new collections.

In the sea of garment rails, a well merchandised mannequin display will increase visibility of your latest collection. This entices your customers towards the surrounding rails in search of the garments (and lifestyle!) depicted on your mannequins.

Cost effective.

We have a range of mannequins to suit all budgets that can be used time and time again, offering true value for money.

Egghead Mannequins

The simple, faceless style of egghead mannequins is currently proving to be the most popular design for the high street retailer.

The simplistic design doesn’t detract from the clothing on display, whilst also offering you the flexibility to personalise the mannequin with hats, wigs and other accessories.

Headless Mannequins

As the name suggests, headless mannequins have no head and allow your customers to focus towards your clothing collection on display and not be distracted by the mannequin itself. The simplicity of design ensures ease of maintenance and timeless style.

Display Torsos and Body Forms

For certain displays, such as lingerie, sportswear or jewellery, a full body mannequin isn’t necessary and body forms are the better option.

Ideally suited for smaller premises or more specific clothing displays.

Considerations when buying Mannequins…

Buyers Guide - Mannequins 8

Things to consider...

When looking to buy mannequins there are a few key things to consider;

Style – Your customers will use the mannequins to visualise how your clothing collection will look on them, so the more your mannequins reflect your customers, the more likely you will benefit from sales. Mannequins are available in a choice of male, female and child mannequins and in a variety of shapes, styles and sizes.

Brand Image – Mannequins are available in a range of styles and finishes from realistic to abstract, active sports to plus size. They are a valuable tool for visual display and should effectively reflect the image of your store.

Finish – Mannequins are generally available in either matt or gloss finish. Matt finishes are currently very popular as they reduce reflection and glare but they are more easily marked than gloss finish mannequins. The chosen finish should again reflect your brand image.

Materials – Fibreglass and plastic mannequins have become increasingly popular due to their lightness and durability but traditional materials such as wood, resin and metal are also available.  If you will be moving your mannequins regularly, then a lighter material would be recommended.

Footwear –Mannequins attach to a base via pole called a spigot. If you’re looking to display shoes and footwear, you will need a mannequin that has a calf spigot. However, this can prevent tight trousers from being displayed. If you won’t be displaying footwear, or if you need to be able to display trousers, a foot spigot would be the better choice. Some mannequins do offer both calf and foot spigots for more flexibility in displays.

Longevity – As with everything in fashion, styles change. Before you invest in mannequins for your business, you should consider how long the style will be relevant. By sticking with more classic styling, the longer your mannequin is likely to remain current.
